JULIE BURTON, MS I/O PSYCH (in progress)

FOUNDER / PRESIDENT

I am Reveille’s mother. Through the tragedy of her death, I decided to start The Reveille Vittetoe Foundation. Reveille struggled with mental health issues, early childhood trauma, issues with peer relationships, and the hardship that comes with being a teen. She did not present with emotionally troubling symptoms so it was difficult for everyone who knew her to understand her struggle. Family, friends, and the psychology and school community alike did their best to help, but in the end, Reveille felt that her only choice to end her pain was to end her life.  It is for that reason that The Reveille Vittetoe Foundation seeks to be a trauma-informed nonprofit designed to support and comfort those who struggle with trauma and the overwhelming issues that come with it and to educate their families, educators, and peers on how to recognize the subtleties in the struggle and how to help.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a paralegal certificate, and am currently in graduate school for my Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I currently work in the criminal justice realm as a continuous quality Improvement coach for Porter County Pact, a NWI nonprofit that works with the local courts to provide case management and similar services for people who are at risk for recidivism. I enjoy spending time with my surviving son, Tristan, and our 4-pound poodle, Leo.
